Not so "Lazy Sunday"

Yesterday was the last day of November, and the last Sunday of November. Every morning when I wake up, I try to picture in my mind what my day will look like. I tell myself, “This will be the day I watch movies in bed.” However, it usually turns into something different. We are in control of our day. The actions we take can either make it a “good” day or a “bad” one. Starting off my day with simple pleasures can make a day full of tasks a “good” day for me. Ending my day with simple pleasures makes it a ‘superb” day. Here are a few highlights from my version of a cozy-lazy Sunday:

Having my favorite go-to breakfast always puts a smile on my face. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been having a typical Spanish breakfast; “Tostada con Tomate, Aceite, y Jamón“. I decided not to “miss” the days when I would have this daily in Spain. Instead, I started making it at home, even though I’m no longer in Spain at the moment.

An afternoon cup of coffee or tea while watching a few of my favorite YouTube vlogs. I love catching up with my favorite YouTube vlogs on Sundays. I wear my cozy robe and a Korean facemask while watching in bed or on the couch. Here are a few of my faves: Sara B. Holt, Karen Napoly, Malama Life, and Steph Bohrer.

Declutter and reset the living room and kitchen. This involves cleaning and is the opposite of the typical definition of “lazy Sunday.” However, cleaning and having a clutter-free space easily puts my mind at ease. I relax knowing that the most used areas of the home are clean and ready for the week ahead.
Cooking a cozy Sunday meal is a simple pleasure. It makes the end of the weekend even more special when making dinner in a freshly clean kitchen. Sharing it with the special people in my life adds to the joy.

Reading a book or spending time on a favorite hobby. I have more than a few books that I want to start reading. Although I didn’t start yesterday, I want to make it a habit to start reading more. I will share the books I’m now working on reading in another post.
Sundays will always be filled with commitments and responsibilities. However, sneaking in and making time for the things that make you happy can also make it a fulfilling Sunday. Looking forward to next Sunday!
